Smith & Wollensky Bring Sabrage, Seafood & American Steak to Summer Events

Smith & Wollensky, one of New York City’s greatest exports, is preparing for summer with a host of curated event packages and a brand new event space in the heart of London’s West End. Featuring the very best American steak, seafood, wine and cocktails, and with entertainment varying from celebrity DJs to learning the art of Sabrage, the new venue is offering a feast of options for event planners.

Smith & Wollensky has developed a number of event options that organisers can choose from; including a classic Summer Sabrage Party, a Summer Cocktail & Seafood Feast with Celebrity DJ’s, and a number of incentive and entertainment options. The venue is also available for exclusive-use buy outs and theming to the taste and creativity of event organisers who want to make the space their own.

Learning the art of sabrage provides a unique backdrop to summer events, the format allows guests to discover a two hundred year old tradition that saw dashing young cavalry officers in the French army slice the cork off a Champagne bottle with a sabre. Nathan Evans, Operations Director of Smith & Wollensky and Grand Commandeur of the Confrerie du Sabre d’Or, leads the entertainment and can teach guests how to execute this visual and enjoyable tradition.

Meanwhile, for a true taste of fresh summer cocktails and seafood, Smith & Wollensky is bringing together food, 1930’s architecture and music. The venue is partnering with celebrity DJs Amber Le Bon (Daughter of Duran Duran frontman Simon) & Becky Tong (Pete Tong’s daughter) to offer a contemporary twist on summer; the artists can perform next to the dance floor under bespoke projections to give the venue a vibrant atmosphere.

Smith & Wollensky has also put together a series of interactive incentive experiences to support summer events. The experiences include a Butchery course with one of the venue’s Master Butchers; a Cocktail making demonstration with Ernest Reid, one of the UK’s leading experts on Whisky (& Whiskey); and Wine Tasting from the vast wine lists available on site.

Since its inception in 1977 on 49th Street and 3rd Avenue in Manhattan, S&W has built a reputation around classic cocktails, a fine and extensive wine list and delicious food.
